About our ‘Irish Educators Abroad’ exhibition

Irish educators have been changing the landscape of education worldwide for generations and this is a tradition that continues to this day.

Our new exhibition ‘Irish Educators Abroad: Building Something Wonderful’ tells their stories and is running here at EPIC from June – September 2019.

From Dublin-born Sr Gabriel Hogan, who founded the first Catholic school for the deaf in New South Wales, to Donegal-born Sr Julia McGroarty, who founded one of the first women’s colleges in the USA, Ireland has a long history of exporting educators to work with communities all over the world.
